Winning Decisions That Shape Your Work at Home Business
So you’ve decided to own your own business? The initial response to being an entrepreneur or working from home is of excitement. There is pure adventure in your eyes. All you see is simply cash flowing right in the floodgates.
The bad news is: The staggering figures of work at home failures cannot be ignored. 97% of online marketers fail.
The good news is: 3% of online marketers are doing something right.
I truly believe anyone can succeed with their MLM business online. All it takes is the right skills and the initiative. The key is to look at any positive skills as an asset. This will be a great motivation!
However, you must also look at the skills that you may be lacking.
The weaker areas uncover opportunities to strategize.
What do I mean by this? I asked the same question. I’ve heard that the weaknesses should be completely disregarded. Capitalize only on the strengths, is what is said.
The gurus tell you to watch your strengths and not your weaknesses. Where did this come from?
In traditional employment, management creates scoring methods which place people together. These are called performance reviews. Many performance reviews layout several requirements. Employees must obtain a certain score or percentage. But…
Strengths do not stand out if there are a ton of weaknesses.
An employee may have a strength that transforms the company, but it doesn’t matter if they also have several weakness. The performance review will be scored low or negative.
The employee moral goes down. Work and productivity usually go down too. Performance reviews simply do not work as well as programs such as Strength Builders.
Because of this, many new business owners are told to pay attention to only their strengths. Who wants to be overwhelmed with negative things about themselves? Umm…Not!
So instead of weaknesses let’s refer to them as opportunities. Does this put a smile on your face?
Can a business owner succeed using ONLY his/her strengths?
Think of a new business. The business owner knows nothing about hiring, financial, or purchasing and stock. So he/she sets up the business with only a manager and a sales department. This is what he knows.
There is no additional staff, because he lacks in the hiring department. There is no budget or accounting maintenance, because he lacks in the financial know how.
There is no inventory. You pretty much get the picture. You have an empty store with a manager and a sales team. Ready to sell you nothing!
A business owner that understands his opportunities is a business owner that will succeed. Why? If he knows the areas he has to grow in. The business owner can take the proper actions to ensure his business is not affected negatively.
5 Easy Steps to get you on track!
1. Know what it takes to succeed in a Network Marketing Business. (Examples are: leadership, coaching, presenting information, listening, and enrolling.)
2. Ask yourself, which of the above DO YOU have? What are your strengths?
3. Ask yourself, which of the above DON’T YOU have? What are the opportunities?
4. How can I gap these differences? Training, reading, and building your skill set. Also, hire someone who has this strength. Recruit someone on your team who has this strength. It’s there!
Henry Ford is the best example of gaping differences. He didn’t have to know everything about that mighty Ford GTS. But he had a phone to call the person who did. Henry Ford KNEW what he didn’t know, and had someone who did know. Ah ha!
5. Make Your Business Stronger!
It’s possible to grow your strengths bigger and better. It’s just as possible to bridge your weakness upon your strengths.
First, identify the weaknesses. Do not ignore them. Next, make the decision that your weaknesses will help you WIN in your business!
